Because of his wide-ranging musical style, Matt Turk has been compared to everyone from David Bowie to Jackson Browne. He's shared the stage with artists ranging from Pete Seeger to Dave Matthews and Fiona Apple, and he's opened up for artists such as NRBQ and the Doobie Brothers. But beyond his resume, and beyond his fine playing and songwriting, Matt brings a deep spiritual sense of the healing power of music. This past December, he traveled to Israel, where he shared funk, Bo Diddley and Grateful Dead-style guitar licks as well as traditional Israeli peace movement songs and Arab folk songs with an impromptu all-ages gathering of dancing Israelis, Palestinians and Americans. He brings that same infectious spirit to every show.
